Teaching Kids in China

Bowen English is a modern TEFL school in Wuxi, China. We are looking to recruit several experienced and non-experienced English teachers to help us provide the highest quality education possible. The school teaches beginner to upper-intermediate level English to children aged 8-13 years. We are looking for exciting people, who can help kids to get interested in learning languages.

Job Description

You will be required to plan and teach lessons with the aid of an English-speaking Chinese tutor. Our maximum class size is 10. We encourage our kids to learn though games and fun activities, as they have enough drilling in their schools. As a result we are looking for fun and resourceful teachers. We are looking for experienced teachers, but have some openings available for trainee teachers.


  • 7000-9000RMB per month for experienced teachers
  • 5000-5500RMB per month for inexperienced teachers plus training
  • Free accommodation or 1000RMB a month towards it
  • 6000RMB for flights and travel.


ESSENTIAL- (1) Be fun, outgoing, with a clear speaking voice. (2) Don’t take yourself too seriously- you will be required to sing, dance and perform on occasions. (3) Have a degree certificate. DESIRED (4) Teaching experience; (5) TESOL/TEFL certificate


The school is based in the beautiful Chinese city of Wuxi. It boasts many spectacular parks, mountains, temples and is situated around the magnificent Lake Taihu. The city is a bustling, modern centre with a population of over 4.5 million people. We are 1 hour from Shanghai and Nanjng

About Stephen Bell

Steve, who started working as an English teacher over 10 years ago, is a senior teacher, teacher trainer and administrator of the teacher training courses. Before joining SGI in 2006, he worked at various schools in London and Poland as a senior teacher and Director of Studies. Prior to this, Steve was a Legal Representative in a law firm. Interesting fact: In his younger days Steve worked as a sports teacher.
