Teaching very young learners: 1 year project

Teaching very young learners can be a real challenge.

How do you get them to engage, keep them active, motivate them etc etc – the list is endless!

Melissa has been specialising in teaching young learners from 3 to 5 years old (a very scary thought for me!) and it’s clear when you talk to her about her classroom that she loves working with these students and dreaming up all kinds of fun activities to entertain and educate her “children”.

In the podcast/presentation/video below, Melissa talks about a 1 year project that she has carried out a few times to great success.

You can hear how using a famous and much-loved children’s book, she brings arts and crafts, drama, song and technology into her young learner lessons.

And here’s Melissa’s video of her young learners from throughout the year long class project!
